Step into the world of philosophers, poets, generals, and statesmen. In The Classical World, students explore the foundational ideas, conflicts, and achievements of ancient Greece and Rome, engaging directly with primary sources and shaping their own arguments through essay writing and Socratic discussion. They will investigate the meaning of virtue, justice, politics, and the human condition, all through the lens of a Christian worldview.

This course trains students, not only in historical content, but in the art of thinking deeply and writing persuasively. Through close reading, critical discussion, and personalized feedback, students develop skills in reasoning, interpretation, and communication that prepare them for advanced study and lifelong learning.
